This blog actually started on Google Blogger in mid-2014. I decided to bring it to WordPress also. I try to be regular with my blog, and publish content which has a different perspective on things.
FYI, Pariprēkṣya means perspective. The blog tries to explore a different perspective on various issues/topics. It may, or may not, be my own perspective, but hopefully a different one. Often a change in point of view is what is needed to enlighten and expand our own limited understanding of the world around us.
My fascination with the word “perspective” began with the movie Ratatouille. The food critic Anton Ego, when asked what he would like to eat that evening replies he would like to have some “perspective- fresh out”. It then truly dawned on me that there are so many possible perspectives to simplest of the things, and all valid, reasonable and logical. This is best depicted when we say to others that, “You don’t understand what it is like to be …” or ” You would understand if you walked a few miles in another’s shoes.”
We often underestimate the power of a point of view. The blog hopes to bring to light new thoughts and hopefully encourage a patient ear and a more receptive reasoned mind.
Judge, but don’t be Judgmental.
Form an opinion, but do not become Opinionated
Lastly, in the words of Marcus Aurelius,
“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.”
